Our home village, Potterhanworth, is relatively small, peaceful and quiet. While absent of shops, it does offer a number of amenities for a village of its size; St Andrew’s Church and the Memorial Hall lie in the centre of the village, while a large playing field with a play park, skateboard park and tennis courts provides opportunity for exercise and activities. The Chequers pub is in the centre of the village, which reopened earlier this year after a period of closure.
Surrounding villages such as Metheringham, Branston, Heighington and Washingborough are all within five miles and offer a number of services and conveniences; food stores, pubs, takeaways, cafés, butchers, Post Offices, chemists and sports facilities. See below a selection of useful amenities:

Transport Links
Rural Lincolnshire is a lovely area for a leisurely drive, however there are also ample public transport links to take advantage of. There are a couple of bus stops in the village which lie on the Lincoln to Sleaford and Lincoln to Boston routes, all of which are worth a visit and contain their own transport hubs from which you can travel further afield. Other than the bigger one in Lincoln, the nearest train station is in Metheringham, where you can catch trains to destinations including Peterborough, Sleaford and Doncaster.
